VeriSign is a technology company that operates a diverse range of network infrastructures as well as a range of security services. In collaboration with HUGE, our challenge was to create all the visual assets to act as the centrepiece of the campaign, telling the story in a compelling and visually stunning way. We handled all of the elements involved with a photo shoot, i.e. concepting, pre-production, the shoot itself, CGI and post-production.
The idea was to create case studies of companies and businesses that have experienced the .COM effect and
show a before and after that demonstrates the positive evolution and what the ‘upgrade’ meant for them.
Across five case studies, we tell the story of how a business went from good to great, all thanks to the power of .COM.
The images had to be highly imaginative and live in between illustration and photography, creating visually stunning worlds with lots of detail and colour.
In cooperation with the agency, we began the process with sketches to agree how they should look. All of them were done by our skilled team of illustrators.
Each element that you can see, down to the smallest detail had to be created in CGI to achieve a comprehensive impression.
In total, we created 10 full CGI backgrounds. It took us five weeks to finalise them from concepting through to the last stages.
They were prepared in advance of the shoot so that we could set up the technical specifications accordingly - lights, camera angles, height, focus, etc.
Each of the environments went through this process. We tested different lighting, textures and moods across all of them.
We shot all models in NYC over two days in cooperation with Huge and the client. We produced the shoots ourselves, taking care of everything with the assitance of our US office and VISU representation.
In postproduction, we had to compose all the elements together, including preparing the CGI backgrounds with all the props and characters. When all was in place, we could get creative with adding the atmosphere and feel, imagining the movement of style between illustration and image.
“The process was ideal for this project. We were able to create ten images
for the price of what four would have cost, considering the travel and intricate
locations. Beyond this it took less time and everyone from our client and team saved a lot of time in not having to travel to each location.”
